What BatCleared is
BatCleared is a planning and referral service for bat removal, dead animal removal, and wildlife exclusion. We publish educational content, we prepare free exclusion plans based on what you tell us, and we introduce homeowners to independent local wildlife control operators as our vetted network opens in each area. That is the whole service.
What BatCleared is not
We are not a wildlife control operator, a pest control company, a contractor, a law firm, a medical provider, or a public health authority. We do not perform inspections, exclusions, removals, cleanups, or repairs, and we do not supervise the independent professionals we introduce. Any work you commission is performed under your agreement with that company, on their license and insurance, not ours.
Wildlife law varies and changes
Bats are protected under state law in most U.S. states, several species are federally protected under the Endangered Species Act, and no pesticide is registered for use on bats in the United States. Beyond those anchors, the specifics that matter to your project, which species are protected where you live, whether a permit is required, and the exact dates of any maternity-season exclusion restriction, are set state by state and change over time. Everything on this site about timing and legality is a typical planning reference, not legal advice. Confirm current rules with your state wildlife agency before doing or commissioning any work, and see the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at fws.gov for federally listed species.
Health questions belong with health authorities
Bat contact can carry a rabies risk even when no bite is visible, and disturbed droppings can carry a histoplasmosis risk. Our content describes both plainly and links the CDC's guidance, but nothing on this site is medical advice. If you or anyone in your household may have had direct contact with a bat, or woke to find a bat in the room, contact your local health department and your doctor promptly. For cleanup safety, follow the CDC and NIOSH guidance at cdc.gov rather than anything you read secondhand, including here.
Costs are planning ranges, not quotes
Every price on this site is a typical published planning range for the U.S. market, stated as a range on purpose. Your house, the animal, the season, and your local market set the real number. Treat our ranges as orientation for reading a quote, and treat a written quote from a local company, after an inspection, as the only real price.
How we are paid
The exclusion plan is free to homeowners, with no obligation. If we introduce you to a wildlife control operator and you hire them, that operator may pay us a referral fee. The fee never changes your price, and we would rather tell you we have no vetted operator near you than sell your request to whoever would pay for it. We do not accept payment to alter what our educational content says.
No warranties
The site and its content are provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We work to keep everything accurate and current, and our editorial standards describe exactly how, but we cannot guarantee that any given page reflects the current law of your state, the current guidance of any agency, or the current pricing of any market on the day you read it. Verify with the linked authority before acting on anything that affects legality, money, or health.
